Designed/built 1952/53 by Lanes in Totara North of carvel Kauri planks over laminated framing. Owned by Northland Port Corporation from 1963-2000 as Whangarei Harbour pilot boat. Up to 2013 was in SSM survey for 16 pax. Since 2000 run from Whangaroa Harbour between Three Kings Islands and Auckland/Great Barrier. Full refit 1984: Aluminium wheelhouse, 2 new engines, gearboxes, props, shafts, rudders, instrumentation and electrical system.
Spacious interior (good headroom), saloon with seating, galley with water, 24v fridge / freezer and LPG stove. Sleeps 3 - forward cabin with 2 singles in V, aft cabin with 1 single, separate head. Engines: 2 Gardner 6LXBM52 127hp at 1500rpm continuous rating with twin disc gearboxes. Batteries: 6 x 12v, 1x 24v Lithium + 600w Solar power. Max. Speed: 11 knots. Cruising speed: 8-10 knots. Fuel capacity: 1400L. Water capacity: 200L. Extras: Bilge separated into forward and aft (3x electric bilge pumps and 2 manual pumps for each). Engine room with inlet/outlet fans. Hydraulic steering, holding tank, VHF, chartplotter, fishfinder, radar, GPS, depth sounder, rope-drum capstan, EPIRB, lifebuoy, 3x anchors, 20+ ton displacement.
