Description

Built by Blue Water Yachts UK to John Pugh's proven offshore design, this 1985 steel-hulled 32-footer represents serious bluewater capability at an accessible price point. Measuring 9.75 metres on a 10-foot beam with a 1.8-metre draft, she displaces approximately 6.5 tonnes - the kind of blue-water confidence that lighter vessels simply cannot match. Propulsion comes from a 2010 Volvo D1-30 30hp diesel with only 350 hours on the clock, delivering a comfortable 6-knot cruise and 8-knot top speed from 180 litres of fuel. Her sail inventory is outstanding: a brand new mainsail (2024), re-stitched No.1 Genoa (2024), near-new No.2 Genoa, and a good spinnaker. Alloy spars and mast were cleaned and Nyalic-coated in 2010, complemented by stainless steel standing rigging. Accommodation is generous for a 32-footer - a private aft double cabin, double berth in the bow, and a saloon single, plus 200 litres of fresh water, fridge, freezer, two-burner gas stove, and toilet. Ground tackle is solid: Maxwell HRC8 drum winch with 30m galvanised chain, 50m warp, and dual anchors. Twin solar panels provide energy independence. An insurance survey was completed September 2025. Cared for by the same owners for 13 years, this yacht is ready to sail. Tauranga, $50,000 NZD.
